Topics covered:
This course has units focused on the knowledge employers in Health & Social Care require, in order to work with vulnerable individuals such as individuals with Dementia or Stroke. They vary from Protection & Safeguarding, Dealing with Loss & Grief to Disability Awareness and Introduction to the Autistic Spectrum. It also includes overall knowledge about Communication, Duty of Care and Equality and Inclusion. Case studies are used to demonstrate the application of knowledge.

It serves as a stepping stone to progress on to a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and higher education to become a Nurse, Social Worker or work as a Care Assistant in a care home with the elderly. The knowledge you have obtained could enable you to progress within the organisation you work in.
